It's very difficult so far for me to capture the shiny glint of grackle feathers on short notice. I think this was the last bird to end up in my Stupid Birds Collection for the art show, and I think I was running out of time in a major way.

The marker work initially did show various oil-slick colours amongst the blacks and greys, but the shading was a little askew, so as I went over it to get depth things blended to a point that you had to squint to see any greens, purples or blues. But everything is a learning curve, and ngl this was not a good paper to choose for marker work. It bled like Viago's date that one time in What We Do In The Shadows, so much that I had to put a board underneath each page while putting colour to them.

And this, folks, is why we do test birds first. But stupid was the objective, and the end result delivers.
