In case you didn't read the "Creating with Chronic Illness" stuff, I'll just sum up the key points in relation to accommodations and you.
There is nothing wrong with changing things around you, or using better tools, to do something effectively. It's actually smart.
I can't pull a tree trunk apart with my bare hands, nor could I ever. I know there's people out there that can, because I've seen it on the internet.
Me? I'd use a hatchet, or an axe, or a chainsaw.
Are you gonna ask me why I'm not using my bare hands? No.
Because we can't expect everyone to have the same abilities.
Accommodating for your disabilities is the same thing, it's just that people make a bigger deal about it because it inconveniences them, because now there's an axe in the room, and folk are giving "oh heavens, what if the neighbours see" vibes like anyone actually cares about a stupid axe or being around one. And most people don't, but some people think they do, and those people get weird about it. And the people actually having a problem with that axe.
But that's a them problem. You need your axe, and you're probably better at weilding it than they are.
You do you, babygirl. 💕
